Edward S. Eck, 88, of Jersey Shore, passed away Thursday morning, October 3, 2024, at Jersey Shore Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Nippenose Township on April 28, 1936, the son of the late Reynolds Henry and Marie (Barner) Eck. He served his country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Ed was a truck driver most of his life both self-employed and driving for Interstate Freight, and various other trucking firms. He was a member of the Avis American Legion Post #284, the Jersey Shore VFW Post #5859 and a former member of the Jersey Shore B.P.O.E Lodge #1057 and the Jersey Shore L.O.O.M Lodge #214.
Ed's survivors include two sons: Edward S. Eck, Jr. and Michael W. Eck (Jen) both of Jersey Shore; a stepson, Jeff Frank (Becky) of Nippenose; along with four stepdaughters, Joyce MacMillan of Pleasant Gap; Shelly Hess and Becky Hess (Fran) of Jersey Shore; and Sherry Arroyo of New Castle, DE; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mary Dutton of Jersey Shore; and Joan Willits (Ron) of Linden. In addition to his parents, Ed is preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley (Myers) Eck in 1967; his second wife, Jeanette (Orndorf) Eck in 2011; and his sister, Nancy.
In keeping with Ed's wishes, there will be no public services. Interment will be held privately in Jersey Shore Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in Ed's name to the Clinton County SPCA at 33 Mill Hill Rd., Lock Haven, PA 17745 or at clintoncountyspca.org/donate.
