Edna Y. (Yohe) Schooley, 66, of Williamsport, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at the Gatehouse in Williamsport. She was born in Williamsport on May 18, 1960, a daughter of the late Thomas and Edna (Felix) Yohe.
Edna was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. Her favorite days were filled with love and laughter from her children and grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Maymee”. Edna will be remembered as a thoughtful, kind, and generous person. During her travels, Edna would frequent antique shops and had an eye for interior design. She spent many quiet moments sitting on her porch reading, or drinking coffee with her neighbor, Kelly. Edna enjoyed cooking for others and liked to peruse cookbooks. Edna worked as a Registered Nurse for the former Jersey Shore Hospital until her retirement in 2023.
Edna is survived by two daughters, Krista Kimmel (Greg) of Rockton; and Heather Butters (Grant) of Springfield, Virginia; four grandchildren, Wesley, Cameron, Owen, and Madelyn; a brother, Thomas Yohe (Ruth Ann); four sisters, Ann Webber (Pete), Barbara Welch (Jim), Catherine Dietrick (Larry), and Lydia Yohe; and 11 nieces and nephews, Tommy, Joey, Jason, Jaime, Jared, Christopher, Melania, Rosemary, Michael, Daniel, and Nathan.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30am on Monday, October 26, 2026, at Jersey Shore Cemetery, 1103 Locust St., Jersey Shore with Troy Showers officiating. Those who wish to follow in procession, please meet at Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore by 11:15am.
A celebration of life picnic will be held at a later date during the summer to honor Edna’s memory.
The family asks that in memory of Edna, you would take some time to sit on your porch and enjoy the day.
