Douglas W. “Doug” Cohick, 73, of Jersey Shore, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026, at his home. He was born in Williamsport on July 20, 1953, a son of the late James LaRue “Bud” and Eleanor Lucille “Mouse” (Berry) Cohick.
Doug worked for over 40 years with Williams Gas Pipeline, formerly Transco, holding many progressively responsible positions over those four decades and retiring as an environmental supervisor. He was an active member of Pine Run Bible Church in Linden, a long-standing full member and current honorary member of the Elbow Fish & Game Club, and a previous member of the Larry’s Creek Volunteer Fire Company. When not meticulously managing his property, Doug spent much of his time being a part of his community. He cared deeply for his community and was always there to lend a helping hand to family, neighbors, and friends. In his free time, Doug enjoyed hunting, being outside, participating in many setback tournaments with friends, and spending hours with his dogs, Remi, and the late Maxie. He was a lifetime fan of Jersey Shore sports, having wrestled in high school, and enjoyed keeping up with the Bulldogs, wrestling and football alike. Doug was a kind, loving, and supportive father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Doug is survived by his daughter, Erin Cohick of South Williamsport; two sons, Geoff Cohick (Amy) of Lancaster; and Dana Cohick of Williamsport; his former wife, Pat Cohick, with whom he remained close; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Graham, and Charlotte Cohick; two brothers, Donnie (Janice) and Dave (Judy) Cohick; a sister, Trish (Cohick) Wood; several nieces and nephews; and many family friends and community members whose lives Doug touched.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Doug will be held at noon on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, with Pastor Grant Helsel officiating. Family and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
Doug’s family will provide the flowers and suggests honoring his memory by spending time outside in nature.
