Possinger
June 4, 1961 – April 3, 2025
Darlene Lillie Possinger, a beacon of kindness and warmth, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025, at her residence at the age of 63. Born on June 4, 1961, in East Stroudsburg, Darlene lived a life filled with love, dedication, and an unwavering spirit that inspired all who knew her.
Darlene's work was as varied as it was meaningful. She spent 12 years at the Snydersville Diner, offering both meals and a listening ear to all who entered. For 32 years, she raised sheep, reflecting her deep bond with nature and animals. Her 42 years of farming demonstrated her dedication to the land, while her time at a veterinary office and a fudge store showcased her love for animals and her talent for making sweet treats. Darlene also dedicated much of her adult life to caring for her parents, a testament to her deep love and unwavering commitment to family.
Darlene's interests were as varied as her talents. She had a cherished collection of sheep memorabilia and adored her Saint Bernard, Barney. She enjoyed riding horses and brought joy to countless children by dressing up as a clown for parties. Known for her generosity, she was always ready to feed and comfort those in need. Darlene had a deep passion for cooking and baking, loved collecting cookbooks, and enjoyed watching cooking shows, and shared that passion by teaching others to cook in her later years. She also loved tractor pulling and treasured her time in the tractor club, and always eagerly anticipated the next county fair. A little-known fact about Darlene was her love for poetry; even during a tough hospital stay, she found ways to bring humor and beauty through her poems. With a heart full of jokes, she could always bring a smile to those around her.
Darlene attended New Journey Community Church in Northampton, where her faith and compassion were evident in all she did. Her life was a testament to the power of kindness and the importance of community.
Preceded in death by her beloved parents, Benjamin and Blache (Marvin) Possinger, and her nephew, James Gallagher, Darlene leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy (Jim) Gallagher of Jersey Shore; nieces Karen Wells of Jersey Shore and Jen (Rej) LeBlanc of Nova Scotia, Canada; nephew Jimmy; and great-nieces and nephews Noah, Micah, Elijah, Devon, Elaina, Calvin, and Olivia.
