JERSEY SHORE - Dale L. Smith, Sr., 80, passed away Friday, December 1, 2017 at the Gatehouse, Williamsport.

He was born on October 1, 1937 in Jersey Shore and was the son of the late Charles and Laura (Clauson) Smith.  He worked as a butcher as well as being self employed and ran a wide load escort service.  He was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed competitive shooting.  Dale loved traveling and spending time with his family.

Dale is survived by his six children; Dale L. Smith, Jr. (Faye) of Jersey Shore, Barbara A. Fulkrod (Ray) of Millsboro, DE, Douglas M. Smith of Jersey Shore, Jennifer J. Locey (Mickey) of Montoursville, Daniel S. Smith (Debra) of Windsor and Emily J. Bryant (Chuck) of Salladasburg, one step-son; Terry Karichner (Sue) of Jersey Shore, 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, one great-great grandson and one sister; Erma Hurlbutt of Jersey Shore.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; Armina J. Smith, one grandson; Joshua G. Larue Fulkrod and numerous siblings.

There will be a public viewing 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, December 4, 2017 and again 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, where the funeral will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday.  Burial will follow in the Jersey Shore Cemetery.
