Christopher Joel Sanden, 65, passed away September 26, 2025 and was found looking peaceful at his home in Northfield, VT.  Chris was born March 23, 1960 in Washington DC, the son of Lewis & Jean Sanden.

After graduating from Annandale High School, Chris received several certifications specializing in various areas such as Advanced Steam Engineering, Commercial Burner and Controls, and countless others.  Over the span of his 41-year career his talents and service were recognized and well respected.  Beginning his career as a Journeyman & service technician, over the years he rose to Supervisor positions that created a difference at Susquehanna University and ultimately Norwich University in Northfield, VT.  Chris thrived on teaching and sharing his knowledge.  He loved taking the time to give tours to interested individuals and groups and had kept several thank you notes as mementos.  Chris' expertise of boiler systems and his passion for not only his trade but for those whom he worked alongside, left an imprint on all who knew him.

Chris had a passion for music, especially Blues, and attending shows or festivals, and he loved Penn State football.  As a nature lover, he lived for bonfires and sunsets, taking road trips and going camping, and even made friends with wild animals like Henry the Turkey.  One of his greatest joys was spending time with his children and grandchildren, as well as his dog and beloved companion Forest.

Chris will always be remembered for his courage during difficult times, his willingness to stand up for what he believed in, his positivity and kindness towards everyone, and his love for his family and friends.  We find peace knowing he is at rest and one of our guardian angels now.

Chris is survived and missed by his two daughters, Jennifer (Derek) and Heather. He is also survived by three grandchildren Jacob, Caitlyn, and Avyana, his brother Greg (Beth), as well as nephew Scott and niece Carlisle.

Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis & Jean Sanden, and his grandson, Alex.

A Tributes of Life Service and Private interment will be announced at a later time.
