JERSEY SHORE - Charles E. Baker, 80, of Jersey Shore passed away Friday October 23, 2015 at the Jersey Shore Hospital Emergency Room.  Born in Woolrich on July 4, 1935, he was the son of Clarence and Dorothy Chubb Baker.  Charles was married to Barbara (Bartley) on July 23rd 1954 and together they shared 61 years of marriage.

Charles was employed by the Jersey Shore Steel Mill for 39 years.  He was an Honorary member of the Avis American Legion Auxiliary, Sons of American Legion, also a member of the VFW 5859.  Charles was a member of the Phelps Chapel Church.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping and also liked puzzles, puzzle books, crafts and western movies.  Most important to him in his life was his family, his children and grandchildren.

Along with his wife, Charles is survived by 2 sons, Charles (Linda) Jr., Tim (Jeanne) both of Jersey Shore, 2 daughters, Victoria Bauman (Sylvester) of Pine Creek and Emogene Baker-Bauman (Michael) of Avis, 18 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by 2 sisters, Margaret Coy of Lock Haven and Donna Rook of Williamsport.

Charles was predeceased by 2 grandsons, Toby Whitman and Nicholas Baker, 4 brothers, Bill Baker, Gene Baker, Herb Baker and Clarence "Son" Baker, and 4 sisters, Marion Profit, Betty Kitchen, Katherine Swartz and Lois Mincer.

Charles "Life Celebration" will be Wednesday October 28, 2015 at the Rearick Carpenter Funeral Home, Ltd. "A Life Celebration Home" 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore. Visitation will be from 6:00-9:00 PM. There will also be a memorial service on Saturday October 31st, 2015 at Phelps Chapel United Methodist Church, 68 Phelps Chapel Rd, Jersey Shore, PA 17740, with a luncheon to follow.

In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
