Obituary

Brian K. Oechler, 28, of Rauchtown, passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning, Dec. 22, 2018, at the Jersey Shore Hospital.  He was born August 21, 1990, at Divine Providence Hospital in Williamsport, the son of Lyle K. and Lori K. Welshans Oechler. He was a 2008 graduate of Jersey Shore High School and received his bachelor's degree in geology from Lock Haven University. He was married to the former Olivia Vonada, July 31, 2010, and she survives.  He was employed by Pennsylvania General Energy, headquartered in Warren, Pa. as a well-tender. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. He thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors and nature, especially hunting and the preparation that goes with it. Brian was a kind and loving soul who loved his family, adored his wife and children and was a wonderful friend to many. He was well known for having a special heart of gold, a wonderful smile and his exceptionally kind personality.  Besides his loving wife Olivia, Brian is survived by his children, Rylee Faith and Brett Hunter;  his parents, Lyle and Lori Oechler, of Jersey Shore; grandmother, Mary Ann Welshans, of Jersey Shore; one sister, Amanda Oechler (Eddie), of Jersey Shore;  his father and mother-in-law, Michael and Louann Vonada, of Loganton;  nieces and nephews, Conner and Morgan Keiffer, Harper and Quinn Tressler, Roy and Clay Vonada, and Addie Weaver;  brothers-in-law, Michael (Val) Vonada and Derek (Brittney) Weaver;  sister-in-law, Tara (Scott) Tressler;  along with his beloved dog, Hank.  Brian's Life Tribute Service will begin with a visitation from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, from the auditorium at Jersey Shore High School where services will be held at 2 p.m., with Pastor Jeff Pennycoff officiating. All visitors are encouraged to wear their camo. His family suggests contributions be made for the welfare of his children to Lori K. Oechler, 17 Black Bear Lane, Jersey Shore, PA 17740.
