JERSEY SHORE - Betty Jane Sweeney, 91, slipped peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Saturday, Jan 28, 2017, at Manor Care, Jersey Shore.  Born July 21, 1925 in Jersey Shore, she was the daughter of John and Margaret (Miller) Packard.  She married Benjamin George Sweeney in Philadelphia, PA.  He passed away December 30, 1958.

Betty graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 1962 and went on to become a Licensed Practical Nurse.  She served as a nurse at Jersey Shore Hospital for her entire career.  Betty was devoted to her family and her church.  She enjoyed watching her family members participate in sporting events and was a "die-hard" Jersey Shore Bulldogs and Penn State Nittany Lions fan.

She is survived by 3 children; Benjamin George (Rhonda) Sweeney, Betty Jo (Butch) Eberhart and Gwen (Larry) Foust all of Jersey Shore; grandchildren, Maggie (Michael) Pfitzenmaier, Sarah (Brad) Cascagnette, Jessica (Alex) Hoover, Libby (John) McDuling, Adrienne and Britt McCardle, Ryan, Vesta, and Samantha Hurlbutt, Libby Miller and Nehemiah Eberhart, Paul (Jackie) and Jason (Joanna) Eberhart and Laura (Mick) Willoughby, Anna (Justin) Wall, Isaiah and Caleb Foust, 23 great grandchildren and one sister Delpha English of Jersey Shore.

Services for Betty will be held at the Calvary Baptist Church, 315 Thompson Street, Jersey Shore, Friday, Feb 3, 2017 at 11 am with a visitation for family and friends from 9:30 am– 11:00 am.
