Barry E. Sarno, 76, of Jersey Shore, passed away on Monday, Sept. 23, 2019, at his residence. He was born in Jersey Shore on March 1, 1943, to the late Joseph and Jeanette (Shelhamer) Sarno.

Barry worked as a sales executive. A veteran, he served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Barry enjoyed boating and fishing. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Barry is survived by his life partner and best friend, Jean Sarno; three sons, Brian (Heather) Sarno, Northeast, Md., Bradley (Jessica) Sarno, Crownsville, Md.; Jamie Joseph Sarno, Olney, Md.; a daughter, Jennifer (Craig) Bowers, Jersey Shore; and six grandchildren, Amber, Patrick, Kylie, Amelia, Brayden, and Rylan. In addition to his parents, Barry is preceded in death by one brother, Robert Sarno.

A celebration of life service for Barry will take place on Saturday, Sept. 28, at 10 a.m., at Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home. Burial will follow with military honors in Jersey Shore Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, Sept. 27, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
