IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Agnes (Stickner)
Cryder
September 12, 1926 – June 11, 2024
Agnes Cryder, 97, of Jersey Shore, PA, passed away on June 11, 2024. Agnes was born on her family farm on September 12, 1926 in Erie County PA to Matthew and Katherine Stickner. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Charles Cryder, in 1972.
Agnes was known affectionately as 'Baba' (Grandma in Slovak) to her beloved family and friends. Baba had many gifts but her greatest was the love she showered upon her family. Our Baba showed us all the importance of doing small things with great love. And that everything is better with a dash of paprika!
Agnes was an incredible cook and baker and she was famous for her elaborate Christmas cookies, Halupki, and holiday dinners (a turkey wasn't a turkey unless it was fresh and at least 36 pounds).
Agnes was a woman of strong faith who loved being an active member of St. John Lutheran Church of Jersey Shore for over 76 years. She was a member of the J.O.Y (Jesus first, Others second, Yourself last) Sunday School Class and enjoyed many years of cooking with the 'Women of the Church'.
Agnes worked as a cook at Jersey Shore Elementary School for 19 years and was proud of her contributions to the school, especially caring for children and volunteering at the PTO school festival.
Agnes is survived by her four daughters: Patricia Kamus, Linda Hager, Debra Baier, and Cindy Ferguson; 8 Grandchildren; and 10 Great-grandchildren (soon to be 11).
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Agnes' name to the J.O.Y Class of St. John Lutheran Church Thompson Street Jersey Shore PA.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Rearick Carpenter Funeral Home, please visit www.rearickcarpenter.com to leave condolences and fond memories for the family.
