William M. Rinker, 78, of Jersey Shore, formerly of Sunbury, passed away Wednesday June 19, 2019. He was born September 5, 1940 to William W. and Pearle A. (Carr) Rinker in Jersey Shore. He grew up and graduated from high school in Jersey Shore, served in the Marines, and worked as a truck driver, eventually retiring from Weis.
Bill never threw anything away that he thought could be useful, and loved fixing things, especially radios. He was a ham radio enthusiast, and enjoyed working with his hands as both a woodworker and a blacksmith. An avid fisherman, Bill had enjoyed hunting when he was younger, but didn’t like the cold. He was always there for anybody who needed him.
Bill is survived by a son: Bill Rinker, Jr (Jodie) of Lock Haven; a daughter: Cheryl Stabley (Malcolm) of Lock Haven; a step-daughter: Deborah Hummell (Chad) of Iowa; 6 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; 3 brothers: Bob, Emery, and Delroy Rinker; and 2 sisters: Sherry, and Penny. Mr. Rinker was preceded in death by his parents, wife Donna (McIntosh) Rinker 1 son: Dale Kirkpatrick, and two brothers: Thomas and Dutch Rinker.
His family will hold a memorial service at their convenience, and have entrusted the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home 1002 Allegheny Street, Jersey Shore, PA with William’s arrangements.
