Ward B. Carson

Ward B. Carson, 86, of Pine Creek, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the Geisinger Medical Center. Ward was born November 7, 1930 at Pine Creek, a son of Orville and Jeanette (Graham) Carson.  He was married to the former Roma H. Bartges February 20, 1949 and she passed away February 17, 2005. 

Ward was a farmer his entire life along Pine Creek.  He attended The Grace Fellowship Church of Avis.  He was the President of F.F.A. and Pine Creek Township Supervisor and also a member of the PA Farm Bureau.

Ward’s survivors include three sons, Keith Carson (Jana) and Ben Carson (Kim) of Pine Creek and Rod Carson (Cathy) of Martinsburg, PA two daughters, Nanette Strause (Francis of Sunbury and Kay Gillet (Bill) of Shippensburg; along with 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.  He is also survived by one sister Margaret Kisner, of Linglestown and a brother Richard Lee Carson of Monroeton. He was predeceased by a son, Gary in 1980, a grandson Andrew, an infant grandson Aaron in 1994 and a brother Dean.

Ward’s Tribute of Life will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Grace Fellowship Church, with his Pastor Grant Helsel officiating.  Visitation will be held Friday evening from 7 – 9 pm at the Rearick Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny Street, Jersey Shore.  Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery.

His family suggests contributions be made to the Youth Center Building Fund of Grace Fellowship Church, 19 West Ridge Street, Avis, PA  17721.
