JERSEY SHORE - Patricia “Pat” Bower, a long-time resident of Jersey Shore, died Monday, June 26, 2017 at her home.

She was born in Bellefonte on February 26, of none of your business, as she would tell anyone who asked the year she was born.  She was mostly raised by her Grammy and Pappy St. Clair in the Bellefonte area until the age of 12, when she moved to Lock Haven to develop her stubborn behavior alongside her mother, the late Madeline St. Clair-Andres.

In 1951, she married the late Robert E. Bower, who preceded her in death.  Together they were dairy farmers and parents to two wonderful children.  Mostly a homemaker, she did enjoy working for several years at the West Company in Jersey Shore.

Pat is survived by one son; Grant Bower and his wife Shelia, one daughter; Susan Bower-Nixon and her significant other, Mitchel Smith, six grandchildren; Robert Cunningham and his wife Eve, Gayle Bower, Bradley Nixon and his wife Lori Tinney, Jaime Bower and her significant other, Michael Lloyd, Erin Nixon-Salgat and her husband Michael, Kelley Bower and Robyn Bower-Bruno and her husband Jason, four step grandchildren; Rachel Mutter, Paul Mutter, Stephen Nussbaum and Neveah Ward, six great grandchildren; Noah Cunningham, Summer Cunningham, Chloe Cunningham, Evan Cunningham, Sadie Nixon-Tinney and Timothy Vermette, with some more baking.

Pat hated being kind for too long, but loved her dog Maddie.  Never forgetting a birthday or holiday card, she will be remembered for never letting us forget she was always the “Boss”.  Even though she would tell us behind his back that her husband was!

There will be a public viewing 12 – 1 p.m. Friday, June 30, 2017 at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, followed by the funeral procession to the Jersey Shore Cemetery for her burial.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
