Mark Lamey Obituary

Mark T. Lamey, 42, of Jersey Shore passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2019, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.  He was born in Jersey Shore, February 21, 1977.  He was the son of, William (Deb) Lamey and Sharon (Freddie Allen) Altemier.  Mark was born with a complex, complicated Blue Babies Heart disease.  He had beat the odds all of his life, Mark was always strong and such a fighter; he never gave up until now, this time he could not beat the odds. God said to him “you are tired and don’t have to fight any longer, come home my child to be with me”. Mark is no longer in pain and is now an angel looking down to protect his family.  God is good!

He graduated from Jersey Shore Area High School in 1996.  He married the love of his life, Jamie (Lose) Lamey on September 27, 2003.  On August 9, 2007, Mark and Jamie were blessed with “A Special Angel”; their daughter Peyton Ann; she was such a blessing and the highlight of his life. His loving nickname for her was “fruitcake”

Mark was most recently employed by Bob McCormick Ford as a parts manager for 13 years.  In earlier years, he worked in the parts department at Don Breon Ford, Quality Care and Shore Auto Parts.

Mark enjoyed many things in the life, especially spending time with his “Girls”, Jamie and Peyton. He was a special man, polite and kind; he had a deep love for his family, he was the type of person who “never met a stranger”; everywhere he went he made a friend.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman, with a great love for the outdoors.  Mark really enjoyed watching sports.  Some of his favorite teams include, the Chicago Bears, New York Yankees and Notre Dame.  He also, always looked forward to his Black Friday adventures with Jamie and Stephanie.

Mark’s family would also like to acknowledge and thank his physicians for the outstanding care and exceptional loving relationships you extended to him for many years, Dr. Robert Mangano, Dr. Randle Storm and Dr. Maria Bermudez.  Mark truly loved you all deeply and had so much respect and gratitude for all you have done for him.  We will never forget you!!

Surviving besides his wife Jamie, daughter Peyton and his parents include:  parents-in-law, Ken and Sherry Pittenger of Antes Fort; two brothers, Billy aka Taco Bill (Sarah) Lamey of South Williamsport and Clifton (Michelle) Farr of Virginia; three sisters,  Laura (Mike) Charest of North Carolina, Brenda (Rod) Metzger of Montgomery, Tammie (Trent) Beck of Jersey Shore; two grandmothers, Elizabeth Zinck of Avis, Doris Baney of Antes Fort; a special “Sister” sister-in-law Stephanie “Stephy”.  In addition, there are several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and his beloved pets Bently, Ruger and Max.
