Lewis Russell Sanden, 92, passed away peacefully in his sleep Wednesday May 1, 2019 at Grand Villa Assisted Living Facility, Pinellas Park FL. Lew was born August 22, 1926 in Russell, PA, the son of Florence and Paul Sanden.
Lew served in the Navy in both World War II and the Korean War. After the service he was in the insurance business and a parts buyer and inventory specialist. He enjoyed gardening, travelling, fishing and buffets, but mostly spending time with his family.
Lewis is survived and missed by two sons, Gregory (Bethany) of St. Petersburg, FL, and Christopher of Northfield, VT. He is also survived by four grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a brother-in-law Lloyd (Carol) Livingston of Mifflinburg, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Lewis was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years Jean Marie, his parents, his 5 siblings and a great grandson, Alex.
A Tribute of Life Service for Lew will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday July 25 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 404 Market Street, Mifflinburg PA. A military internment for family will also take place at Jersey Shore Cemetery at 11:00 am on July 26 2019.
