Gary E. Lannan, 70, of Jersey Shore passed away Thursday evening, April 25, 2019 at the Lock Haven Extended Care and Hospice.
He was born June 5, 1948 in Jersey Shore a son of Chester and Mary Robbins Lannan. He was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School and a U.S. Army Veteran of Vietnam. Earlier in life he worked 27 years in line clearance with various tree removal companies under PP&L. He was employed for over 17 years with the Jersey Shore School District as a custodian. Gary enjoyed hunting and fishing and landscaping. He was affectionately known as” Pappy” to his school students looking for a gumball handout.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years the former Sandra Weaver, a son Curtis Lannan (Tammy) and a daughter Kaila Koon (David) of Brookside; and grandchildren Corbin, Megan and Connor; five siblings Donald of S.C., John (Jen) of S. Williamsport, Dennis (Wanda) of Montoursville, Clarence (Terry) of S. Avis and Ruth Thompkins (Kenny) of Cogan Station and his sister in law Joann Butler (Norman) of Avis.
Gary’s Tribute of Life Memorial Service will be held at 3 PM, Saturday, May 4, 2019 at the Jersey Shore Elementary School Cafeteria with David Koon officiating. Friends and relatives may call at the cafeteria from 1 PM – 4PM. A luncheon will be served immediately following Gary’s[i] services.
