Edward “Ed” J. Zetts, 67, of Avis, passed away, with his family by his side, Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.  Born in Phillipsburg, August 30, 1949, he was the son of Joseph and Anna (Little) Zetts.

Ed married the love of his life, Debra A. (Wright), June 9, 1973 and they celebrated 43 years of a loving and happy marriage.  Ed was employed as a supervisor for 39 years by High Steel Structures, Inc.

in Williamsport, retiring in 2012.  He was a gentle, kind, caring man with a great sense of humor who loved living a very simple life.  He was the kind of man that would “give the shirt off his back” to someone in need.  Family was very important to Ed; always being a truly devoted husband, father

and grandfather; back in the 1980’s he was a  Leader in his son’s Cub Scout Pack, in Avis, for four years. He enjoyed camping, collecting old American coins and PEZ Dispensers.  He has a special place in his heart for the family dog, Barney, a gentle sweet St. Bernard.  Ed will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Ed is survived by his loving wife, Debra, a son, Joseph M. of Sunbury, five “adopted” grandchildren and his sister, Marie, of Karthaus, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jason; daughter, Jennifer and a brother, Joseph.

A visitation for family and friends will be, Sunday, April 2, 2017, 4-6 pm, at Rearick Carpenter Funeral Home, Ltd., 1002 Allegheny Street, Jersey Shore.  Private services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
