Edmund Joseph Suponcic, 72, of Jersey Shore passed away, Monday, June 3, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Wilkes-Barre, January 17, 1947 a son of Edmund J. and Helen J. (Novis) Suponcic.
Early in his life he was employed with L & L Boiler of Montoursville and later with C & I Boiler, Stone Container and retired from ThermaCore all of Williamsport. Ed was a US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving on the USS Preble.
He was a member of the American Legion in Luzerne and the Jersey Shore VFW Post #5859. Ed was a renowned gardener best known for his tomato plants. He was also an inventive handyman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating.
He is survived by his wife the former Patricia Keohane whom he married September 18, 1971, one son US Army Major Brian J. Suponcic (SuPatcharee) of Woodbridge, VA, and one daughter Andrea A. Stevenson (Brian) of Louisville, CO one brother James Suponcic (Linda) of Luzerne, also his beloved dog Tant.
Ed was predeceased by his son, US Army Staff Sergeant Joseph E. Suponcic, who was killed in action in Kosovo, December 15, 1999.
In keeping with Ed’s wishes, there will be no services and interment will take place in Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, DC.
