Donald A. "Dob" Powell, Sr.

LINDEN - Donald A. “Dob” Powell, Sr., 86, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Manor Care North, Williamsport.

He was married to the former Betty J. (Barlet), who survives, on July 23, 1955.  They have celebrated almost 63 years as husband and wife.

Donald was born in Williamsport on August 3, 1931 and was the son of the late James and Emma (Zettle) Powell.  He had served with the US Army during the Korean War.  He worked for Sylvania for over 35 years and retired in 1989. 

In addition to his wife Betty, he is survived by two sons; Donald A. Powell, Jr. (Malinda) of Jersey Shore and Mark A. Powell (Tammy) of Williamsport, one daughter; Beth L. Getgen (Bart) of Williamsport, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by on daughter; Debra N. Powell, one brother; Robert Powell and four sisters; Louise Crawford, Lois Shannon, Marjorie Johnson and Loraine Hann.

Interment will be private in Montoursville Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are being handled by the Rearick Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore.
