JERSEY SHORE - Delfa J. (Packard) English, 96, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at the Gatehouse, Williamsport.
She was married to the late William L. English for 32 years until his death on February 13, 1990.
Delfa was born on December 14, 1921 in Jersey Shore and was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Miller) Packard. In her early years, she had worked at a sewing factory, manor care and babysat. She was a dedicated homemaker and mother who enjoyed her grandchildren and attending their activities, baking, jigsaw puzzles and eating out. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Jersey Shore.
Delfa is survived by one son; William D. English of Jersey Shore, two daughters; Pamela K. “Pam” Kachelries (Terry) of Jersey Shore and Debra L. Pursel (Earl) of Millville, six grandchildren; Jeremiah D. Campbell of Salisbury, MD, Kristi M. Campbell of Hazelton, Ashley N. Hennig of Catawissa, Tyler A. Kachelries of Williamsport, MD, Amber M. Kachelries of Jersey Shore and Sarah B. Case of North Jackson, OH and five great-grandchildren; Cole Sharkey, Lilah Sharkey, Sydney Campbell, Eli Campbell and Abigail Hennig. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six siblings.
There will be a public viewing 10 – 11 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2018 at the Calvary Baptist Church, 315 Thompson St., Jersey Shore where the funeral will be held 11:00 a.m. Pastor Jeffrey P. Howell will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Jersey Shore Cemetery.
