JERSEY SHORE - Clarence Lester Leonard, 82, died on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Manor Care North, Williamsport.
He was married to the late Frances Gloria (Horton) for 60 years until her death on January 28, 2017.
Clarence was born on March 27, 1935 in Watkins Glenn, NY and was the son of the late Clarence and Louella (Hoyt) Leonard. He served with the US Marine Corp. during the Korean War. He had worked at Canteen Vending and retired in 1996. Clarence was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints; Lock Haven Branch, a member of the Fast Draw Club which did Old West shooting shows, was a scout master and was a high priest with the church. He was a San Francisco 49ers fan.
Clarence is survived by three sons; William M. “Bill” Leonard (KC) of Lock Haven, Charles R. Leonard of Jersey Shore and Jonathan R. Leonard of Jersey Shore, two daughters; Katie D. Segraves (Patrick) of Collomsville and Faith L. Johnson (Jamie) of Jersey Shore, 22 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his step father; McClure “Jack” Whitton and two sisters; Elizabeth Eastwood and Delores May Hapeman.
There will be a public viewing 10 – 11 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2017 at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore where the funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Steven Zimmerman, 2nd Counselor, will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy with military honors.
