Alice M. (Faigle) Allen

Alice M. Allen, 92, quietly took her place in Heaven on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019, where she will be re-joined with her parents, husband, and siblings.

Born, Apr. 18, 1927 as the third of eight children near Hancock, NY, Alice was predeceased by her parents, “Herb” and Gwen Faigle, her husband Merrill “Bud” Allen,  along with her brother Keith Faigle and her sister Lois Kulesza. She is survived by five remaining siblings, Larry (Olive) Faigle, Phil Faigle, Wilbur Faigle, Adah (Roger) Taylor, and Mary Williams and their respective children. She is also survived by her son, Craig (Cindy) Allen of Jersey Shore, and grandsons Nathan (Elisa) Allen of Montoursville, Adam (Lindsey) Allen of Port Matilda, Jennifer (Jesse) Reibson of Jersey Shore, Jerry (Rachael) Clark of Jersey Shore, and seven great-grandchildren Elias, Isaiah, Sofia, Olivia, Mila, Parker and Lincoln.

Alice was dedicated to her family and loved spending time with her family and various pets over the years. Although, she had lost her leg in an accident in 1949, she would often volunteer her time to visit or write to new amputees. She spent many years in a variety of jobs, including being a business owner with her husband, but later found that her true talent and love was caring for children, whether in the role of sitter, educator or therapist for several disabled children. She was also an avid sports fan, particularly Jersey Shore, Lycoming and Penn State football.

Alice will be deeply missed by her family, as well as her many friends and acquaintances. In lieu of flowers, she and her family request that contributions in her memory be made to either the Antes Fort United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer’s Association https://act.alz.org.

A Tribute of Life will be held at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, Jersey Shore, Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019 at 8:00 PM with a public visitation 7:00 PM to the time of the service.  Interment, resting with her husband, will be held at the convenience of the family at the Riverview Cemetery in Hancock, NY.
