Sandra “Sandy” D. Reading, 74 of Rauchtown passed away, Monday, Aug. 27, 2018 at UPMC Susquehanna Hospital in Williamsport. She was born Aug. 31, 1943 in Lock Haven, the daughter of Bernard C. and Vona M. (Furl) Delaney.
Sandy was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School, where she was a majorette. She married Orie P. Reading Sept. 13, 1969 and he survives. Sandy was employed by various businesses over the years including Sylvania, Manor Care; she was a school bus driver and also worked for the Crawford Township Authority. She was an active member of St. James Lutheran Church where she was a Lay Minister and church choir member. Sandy enjoyed making crafts, shopping, Penn State and Pittsburgh Steelers football; she also enjoyed going to the beach.
Sandy’s survivors include her husband, Orie, three daughters, Shelly R. Confer (Forrest), Stacey L. Geyer, and Lorie P. Kneale (Robert, Jr.) all of Rauchtown; two step-sons, Lavern Reading of Harrisburg and Todd W. Reading (Clay) of FL.; two brother, Jack E. Delaney (Connie) of Avis and David L. Delaney of McElhattan; twelve grandchildren, seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Raymond R. Delaney in March of 2016.
Sandy’s Tribute of Life will be held at 11 am, Friday, Aug 31, 2018 at St. James Lutheran Church, Rauchtown with her Pastor Rev. Dr. Kerry Aucker officiating. Friends and Family may call at the church Friday from 10 am – 11 am. Her burial will be held privately.
