Robert J. Miller, 84, of Nippenose Valley Village passed away early Friday morning June 23, 2017, at ManorCare in Jersey Shore. He was born in Williamsport, Sept. 2, 1932, a son of Frank and Elizabeth Ulsamer Miller. He was married May 30, 1953, to the former Alice Eiswert who passed Jan. 10, 2007. He was employed for over 42 years with Avco-Lycoming, now Textron. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Pennsylvania Dept. of Forestry for over 25 years. Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing and John Deere Tractors. He had a deep appreciation for raising flowers. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was very active with the Church's May and July 4th festivities. His survivors include two daughters, Mary Kathryn Lewis (Dr. Robert), of Linden and LaDonna M. Gross Nickle (Gary), of Williamsport; two sons, Frank A. and George W. Miller, both of Jersey Shore; four grandchildren, Allyson Totaro, Taylor Lewis, Angela and Janelle Gross Nickle; along with five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Francis, a casualty of World War II. Bob's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 5973 Jack's Hollow Road, Williamsport, PA 17702, with his Priest Rev. Bert Kozen, Celebrant. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Public visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 9-11 a.m. at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore. Bob's family suggests contributions be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
