Jay P. Fulkrod, 85, of Rauchtown, passed away early Saturday morning, March 10, 2018 at his residence.
He was born Aug. 3, 1932 in Jersey Shore, the son of Harry F. and Garnet S. Fulkrod.
He was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School and a member of the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was married to the former Patricia Umstead on Feb. 16, 1957.
An employee of Piper Aircraft for over 30 years, he retired after 15 years from Brodart Corp. as facility manager. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Rauchtown. He was also a member of the American Legion. Jay enjoyed nature, walking and visiting Myrtle Beach. He was a very faithful man who loved his family dearly.
Besides his wife, Patricia, of 61 years, he is survived by two daughters: Lisa A. Manley (Robert) of Oval and Shelly K. Dincher (Daniel) of Loyalsock; two grandchildren, Justin C. Baker (Marinda) and Brandy L. Roller (Rob); along with three step-grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, Jay P. Fulkrod Jr., and a grandson, Nicholas Baker.
In keeping with Jay’s wishes, his services will be held at his family’s convenience. His family suggests in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. James Lutheran Church, 3242 Middle Road, Jersey Shore, Pa. 17740.
