Janice A. (Flook) Cohick

Janice A. Cohick, 93, of Salladasburg, passed away Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loving family.   She was born Nov. 25, 1924, in Salladasburg; she was the daughter of the late, James Elmer and Alice (Belford) Flook.

Janice was married in 1946 to the late John L. Cohick and they shared 60 years of marriage before his passing in 2006.  Janice worked at Sylvania, Carroll House, Jersey Shore High School Cafeteria, Maule Air Crafts. Janice retired from West Pharmaceutical, best known to the area as The West Company.  After her retirement, Janice became a member of Silver Sneakers, Salladasburg Senior Citizens and Women’s Society at her church.

She was a member of the Salladasburg United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher.  Janice enjoyed working in her flower garden, family picnics, her three cats, bird watching and sitting on the porch visiting with neighbors, friends and family.  Anyone who passed by was sure to hear her famous “YOO-HOO” and get a wave!

Surviving Janice are two sons; John Gary Cohick (RaMae), Van Cohick (Ami) and a daughter Julie Peters (Jeffery) all of Salladasburg; a sister-in-law, Helen Cohick of Jersey Shore.  She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Janice was preceded in death by two brothers Leon Flook and Stanton Flook, sister-in-law  (Gladys), a sister and brother-in-law, Florence (George) Reidell, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Kline (MaryKay) Cohick.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.  In Lieu of flowers, any donations may be made in memory of Janice to the Salladasburg United Methodist Church, 404 Main Street, Salladasburg, PA 17740
