Jack E. Young

LINDEN - Jack E. Young, 78, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Manor Care North, Williamsport.

He was married to the former Irene F. (Smith) who survives and they have spent 51 years as husband and wife.

Jack was born on March 22, 1939 in Williamsport and was the son of the late Max A. and Letha H. (Myers) Young, Sr.  He graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 1959.  He served in the US Army from 1962 to 1965.  He had worked at Piper and then Brodarts, retiring in 2006.  Jack was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Linden and had attended Salladasburg United Methodist Church.  He was a member of NRA.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working in his yard.

In addition to his wife, Irene, he is survived by three sons; Duane A. Young (Margaret) of Salladasburg, Rick E. Young (Nadine) of Trout Run and Keith A. Young (Kelly) of Lock Haven, one daughter; Debra A. Howard (Donald) of Hensley, Ark, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one brother; Max A. Young, Jr. (Eleanor) of Howard and one sister; Susan K. Snyder (Bill) of Scotrun.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son; Kevin L. Young.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.  Burial will be in Woodward Twp. Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, PA.
