Evelyn L. (Maggs) Frederick

JERSEY SHORE - Evelyn L. (Maggs) Frederick, 88, passed away Friday, July 6, 2018 at her home.

She was married to the late Arthur L. Frederick for 63 years until his death on July 22, 2014.

Evelyn was born on November 28, 1929 in Jersey Shore and was the daughter of the late Ernest and Florence (Embick) Maggs.  She had worked in the Jersey Shore Schools as a cafeteria worker then worked and retired from the Jersey Shore Hospital coffee shop.  She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Eastern Star and Order of the Amaranth.  She enjoyed picnics, traveling and family get togethers.

Evelyn is survived by one son; John S. Frederick of Jersey Shore, one daughter; Sandra W. Watkins of Jersey Shore,  four grandchildren; Amy Hoffman, Amanda Frederick (Jesse Steele), Carol Rossman (Zi Bhatti) and Suzanne Rossman (Billy Lowe), 5 great-grandchildren; Avery, Zane, Sierra, Dakota and Abby and one daughter-in-law; Dianne J. Bardo (Doug) of Jersey Shore.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother; Ernest E. Maggs, Jr. and two sisters; Ida Codon and Mildred L. Hughes.

There will be a public viewing 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at the Rearick Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, where the funeral will be held at 12:00 p.m. with the Reverend Gary Shumway officiating.  Burial will follow in Jersey Shore Cemetery.
