Elizabeth M. (Heilig) Delaney

JERSEY SHORE - Elizabeth M. (Heilig) Delaney, 79, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the Jersey Shore Hospital.

She was married on December 31, 1955 to the late David E. Delaney who had passed away on November 24, 1991.  They celebrated 35 years as husband and wife.

Elizabeth was born on July 27, 1937 in Williamsport and was the daughter of the late Charles and Phoebe (Renn) Heilig.  She graduated from Williamsport High School and was a dedicated homemaker.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Jersey Shore and enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading and most of all, her grandchildren.

Elizabeth is survived by one son; David W. Delaney (Valerie) of Columbus, OH, three daughters; Karen M. Berry of Jersey Shore and Diane J. Wood and Mary B. Delaney, both of Williamsport, 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one brother; Charles “Butch” Heilig (Carol) of Huntington and one sister; MaryAnn Bartlett (Fred) of Florida. 

There will be a gathering of family and friends 10 – 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore where the funeral will be held 11:00 a.m.  The Reverend Don Haubaugh will officiate the service.  Burial will follow in Jersey Shore Cemetery.
